Files on Breeding and Progesterone Testing
You may download the class notes for Week 2 Segment 1 covering the breeding process and progesterone monitoring, or you may view the notes and the slides online below. You will need a PDF Reader, such as Adobe Reader to view the notes if you download them. For the slide presentation, you will need a program that can open PPT files to view them. Free programs include Kingsoft Office or LibreOffice, and are available online for download. Otherwise, Microsoft Office will open the file. If the Scribd files seem GARBLED or formatted incorrectly, refresh the screen and they should return to their original format.

If you use Chrome browser, the slides do not advance with the arrow keys. Instead, type in the next slide number into the numbered box 1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc.

Much of the material for this course was taken from Dr. Root's book, "The Dog Breeder’s Guide to Successful Breeding and Health Management" (ISBN:1-4160-3139-1). There is also a Kindle Edition of the book available on the website that is slightly less expensive. Another text that she recommends as very helpful for dog breeders is "Canine Reproduction" by Phyllis Holst (ISBN 978-1-57779-114-0).
